A trauma-informed children's book. Ideal for children ages 4-8 years old.Children want to be happy and playful; it is in their innocent nature. Then life happens, and they are faced with situations that they are not yet prepared for nor know how to make sense of. They intuitively feel this hurt in their body and then emotions quickly follow making them feel sad or even cry. The problem is these hurt children do not know what to do to make themselves feel better. The Secret Magic of Your Heart teaches children how to unhurt their hurt heart with agency.

I’m an illustrator based in Portland, OR, with a decade of experience in character puppet fabrication, themed entertainment, picture book and middle-grade illustration.Before finding my path in kid-lit, I earned my BFA in Media Arts & Animation in Chicago, IL. I worked in themed entertaiment, stop-motion animation as a puppet fabricator, and slowly built my freelance practice illustrating picture books, Illustrated novellas, and zines.
