A trauma-informed children's book. Ideal for children ages 4-8 years old.Children want to be happy and playful; it is in their innocent nature. Then life happens, and they are faced with situations that they are not yet prepared for nor know how to make sense of. They intuitively feel this hurt in their body and then emotions quickly follow making them feel sad or even cry. The problem is these hurt children do not know what to do to make themselves feel better. The Secret Magic of Your Heart teaches children how to unhurt their hurt heart with agency.

I create illustrations, comics, zines, and picture books that combine fantasy, humor, and heartfelt storytelling. My work ranges from picture books for young readers to graphic memoir and comics for adults, but no matter the audience, I'm interested in stories that explore connection, curiosity, and the lessons we carry through life. My process begins with traditional materials. I sketch, doodle, and build handmade dummy books and once I have a strong foundation, I bring the work into digital tools to refine compositions, rearrange panels, and develop the final piece. Working between analog and digital methods allows me to preserve the warmth and spontaneity of hand-drawn work while embracing the flexibility of contemporary illustration.I draw inspiration from the adventurous spirit of films from my childhood like Indiana Jones and The Mummy to the quiet magic of Studio Ghibli. I admire work from the the timeless elegance of illustrators like Hilary Knight, and the enduring power of fairy tales and folklore.Outside the studio, I like to while away afternoons thrifting for tiny trinkets and tchotchkes, or searching rivers for rocks and fossils, to one day fill an old Victorian home or artist loft where I will build giant puppets and make comics.
