A trauma-informed children's book. Ideal for children ages 4-8 years old. VisitChildren want to be happy and playful; it is in their innocent nature. Then life happens, and they are faced with situations that they are not yet prepared for nor know how to make sense of. They intuitively feel this hurt in their body and then emotions quickly follow making them feel sad or even cry. The problem is these hurt children do not know what to do to make themselves feel better. The Secret Magic of Your Heart teaches children how to unhurt their hurt heart with agency.Their heart is precious and only they hold the power to take care of their hurt heart. Once they learn the 'secret magic,' they can use it forever. They can even teach others about the 'secret magic' and directly contribute to making the world a happier place, because they now know how to go from feeling sad to feeling happy!

I’m a multidisciplinary artist and aspiring graphic novel author-illustrator. Raised in northern Michigan, I’ve always been a builder, a tinkerer, and someone who loves telling stories. For over a decade, I’ve worked in themed entertainment and stop-motion film, developing a strong foundation in visual storytelling through puppet fabrication, design, and illustration. Those years left lasting impressions and memories of wonderful people and experiences, which deeply influence and continue to shape how I build characters, worlds, and stories. My work is driven by a desire to tell stories that resonate with people. Stories about friendship, growing up, and finding your place. Whether through sequential art, zines, or children’s books, I’m always exploring how illustrations and words can come together to create something meaningful and lasting. Most recently, I relocated to Oregon, where I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside talented artists and craftspeople at the renowned animation studio Laika on their upcoming film, Wildwood. That experience continues to deepen my passion for storytelling and fuels my ongoing journey into the world of graphic novels.
